二．傳統式面談
傳統式的面談通常是問較廣泛的問題，例如Why do you want to work for this company? (你為甚麼想到我們公司工作?) Tell me about your strengths and weaknesses.(告訴我你的優點及缺點。)
這種型式的面談是否成功，主要決定在您的「表達能力」更勝於真實性或內容。雇主在考慮三個關鍵問題: 一、您是否有能力及技術執行工作? 二、您是否有雇主所期待的熱忱? 三、您是否有團隊精神? 是否會適合這個工作環境? 其實大多數雇主心目中都有他的理想人選模式，如果你不符合他的期待模式，再好的條件都沒有用。Marlene Caroselli 的「九項禮儀提示」一文中曾提到，福特汽車的創始人Henry Ford通常邀請應徵者共進午餐，以觀察他們的用鹽習慣。他不考慮那些不嚐味道就先撒鹽的人，他較欣賞那些先嚐味道再決定放多少鹽的人，因為他認為那些在採取行動前先評估情況的人，才是他公司所需要的人。
以下是傳統式面談時可能會被問到的一些問題，有些問題必須根據各人的情況回答，有些我提出一些參考性的回答，請依個人情況斟酌修改。
關於「應徵的公司」的問題
回答這些個問題要根據您由各方搜集來的資料回答，目前電腦網路上及圖書館，有許多資料可以查到。要選擇與自己職位有關的事，例如營業額、銷售網、服務品質、服務對象等，如果公司正在訴訟中等事，就不要提，除非您是來應徵法律顧問的。最好其中有一點是與營業額有關的數據。這些答案都要顯示你對這家公司的高度興趣與對此行業的瞭解。
1. What do you know about our company? (關於我們公司你知道些甚麼?)
2. Tell me three things about my company. (請告訴我三項關於我們公司的事情。)
3. How do you evaluate our company as a place to build your future?
. . (你如何評價我們公司當成你發展未來的地方?)
4. What would you like to know about our firm? (你想知道關於我們公司的哪些問題?)
關於「所應徵的職位」的問題
如果您是經由該公司的員工介紹的，一定要提出那位員工的名字，至少他/她會知道你已大致瞭解公司內部的情形。
1. How did you find out about this position? (你怎麼知道這個職缺的?)
2. How did you hear of the opening? (你怎麼聽說這個缺的?)
關於「應徵這份工作原因」的問題
雇主會期待你對這家公司有所瞭解及有興趣，在回答時將公司的資料說出，顯示事先已經作過研究，而且正是自己想要的工作地點。另一方面要強調自己非常適合這份工作，不但可以發揮自己的特長，而且可以對公司有所貢獻。
1. Why do you want to work for us? (你為甚麼要替我們工作?)
2. Why do you want this job? (你為甚麼要這份工作?)
3. Why are you applying for this job? (你為甚麼申請這份工作?)
4. How did you happen to become interested in our organization? (你怎麼會對我們公司有興趣?)
5. Why did you decide to seek a position in this company?(你為甚麼決定到這家公司求職?)
6. Why are you interested in our company?/What interests you about our company?
. . (你為甚麼對我們公司有興趣?)
•I've talked with some of your employees and they feel that this is a good company to work for because…(我和你的一些員工談過，他們都覺得這是值得工作的公司，因為…)
•I have been reading that your company is really growing fast. I want to work for your company because the future looks promising. (我獲悉你們公司成長很快我希望為你們工作因為將來是很有希望的。)
•I want this job because it makes a perfect match with my skills and qualifications. (我想要這份工作，因為它和我的技能和資格完全吻合。)
•I want this job because it would enable me to utilize my potential and contribute to your company. (我想要這份工作，因為它可以發揮我的潛能以貢獻你的公司。)
•I want this job because it not only meets my career goals, but also provides me with the opportunity to serve your company in a fulfilling way. (我想要這份工作，因為它不但與我的事業目標一致，而且提供我一個充分發揮能力來服務公司的機會。)
•I am applying for this job because I believe that I can contribute to this company. My experience in the field is unparalleled, and my ability to adapt makes me believe that I can take the job to the next level. (我申請這份工作，因為我相信我可以對這家公司有所貢獻。我在這一行業的經驗是無比的，而且我適應的能力，相信可以在這工作上到更高的層次。)
•I am looking for a job that can meet my career goals, utilize my potential and I can contribute to. (我在尋找一份工作是和我的事業目標一致、可以發揮我的潛能，而且可以有所貢獻。)
關於「自己的條件資格」的問題
可以就專業技術、學歷背景，及個性三方面強調自己的優點
01. Why should we hire you? (我們為甚麼要雇用你?)
02. What qualifications do you have for this job? (你有甚麼資格是符合這個工作的?)
03. What makes you think you are qualified for this job? (你為甚麼認為自己是符合這項工作的資格的?)
04. How do your skills relate to our needs?
05. Why should I consider you a strong candidate for this position?
06. What's better about you than the other candidates I'm interviewing?
07. What can you do for us that someone else can't?
08. In what ways could you add most value to us? (你可以為我們公司增加些甚麼價值?)
09. In what way do you think you can contribute to our company?(你可以對公司貢獻些甚麼?)
10. What can you bring to our company? (你可以帶給我們公司甚麼?)

•My background to date has been centered around preparing myself to become the very best _____(account, engineer) I can become. Let me tell you specially how I've prepared myself…

•You should hire me because I have a bachelor's degree in 自己的專業, and a certificate from ____ Institute which is known for their excellent training program. (你該雇用我，因為我有___大學學位，而且有____的執照，他們的訓練是很優秀的)
•You should hire me because I am a hard worker/loyal worker/dedicated worker/quick learner/reliable. (你該雇用我，因為我工作很勤奮、忠誠、專注，我學習能力好，我很靠得住)
•Because I sincerely believe that I'm the best person for the job. I realize that there are many other candidates that have the ability to do the job. I also have that ability. But I also have an additional characteristic that makes me the very best person for the job - my attitude for excellence / I have excellent interpersonal skills / I have excellent communication skills.
